Wapu Gables

Named and designed to reflect the adjacent jetty wharf and classic coastal boat shed structures, ‘Wapu Gables’ is a stunning 3-bedroom home that featured on Grand Designs NZ. Engaging the project builder and engineers early on in the conceptual process assists in establishing a strong understanding of what the client wishes to create.

In this case crafting a special family & entertainment space from a beautiful mix of both modern and recycled materials consisting of exposed industrial structural steel themes, striking aluminium & pre-painted steel wall & roof cladding profiles, all complemented by internal use of aged bricks & native timber that had been loving restored to life after being sourced from historical building projects throughout New Zealand.

The resulting built form captured all aspects of what the client envisioned for their dream home by delivering eloquent internal living spaces that successfully flow outward and blend into the adjacent water’s edge natural environment of the Mangawhai Estuary. Attractive well considered bespoke design is what we specialise in with Wapu Gables being a prime example of what can successfully be achieved via our collaborative approach with all parties throughout a comprehensive dedicated design process and subsequent construction process.
