Last week the team at Horizon had the honor of hosting an event on rural subdivision at the Mangawhai Club. It was amazing to see the fantastic turnout of local property owners, developers, and community members eager to learn more about subdivision opportunities and best practices in our region.
We talked about how the current district plan is nearing the end of it's lifespan and a new plan is not far away.
A huge thank you to the guest speakers including Sam Bradford from Sellars Law, who shared their expertise and real-world examples, and to everyone who came along to make it such a productive and enjoyable evening.

Exciting progress being made at our Shoal Sanctuary project with the steel framing installed along with completion of the wall and roof timber framing. Local fabricators Red Steel Napier along with Napier Sandblasting Co have done an excellent job in crafting the visually exposed steel framing members be it the large portal frames that span internally within the Coastal Pavilion or the magnificent External Courtyard roof truss incorporating the client’s feature sea anchor piece.
A critical roof top weatherproofing construction process involving the formation of the adjoining gable pitch roof internal box gutter formations has also successfully been completed by our expert builders in conjunction with the professional qualified services of Hawkes Bay Membrane Solutions. Attention to detail applied throughout the design process & subsequent construction process has ensured practical complying gutter formations are procured that are lined with the highly respected Viking Enviroclad TPO waterproofing membrane product.
Our local expert carpenters Wakelin Contracting Services Ltd continue to work their magic in bringing this exciting bespoke build to life. Each day the building form certainly starts to look more like our initial concept visual renders, how good is that surrounding coastal landscape!!
I look forward to bringing you an interior construction update in the New Year with completion of the build expected in October 2025.
