Located in the vineyard region of rural Mangawhai, this bespoke rural lifestyle home is designed to nestle perfectly within a unique building platform encompassed by native fauna and wetland ponds.
Architectural Design Manger Frank Stanton enjoyed working closely with owner / builder Jono Heron to procure a simplistic yet stylish family home that’s built form & material finish complements the surrounding natural environment.
“Jono desired a classical A frame formation incorporating a suitable mix of mid to darkish tone natural finished timber & sheet metal products to form external cladding elements that integrate with and accentuate the characteristics of the adjacent native bush. This included the specific use of ‘standing seam’ sheet metal cladding where its vertical rib lines are aligned to project from external walls up across the gable roof plane so as to mimic the strong vertical lines formed by the trunks of adjacent mature Totara trees.”
